Medicine uses all the scientific tools and techniques to solve the problems of the human body and to aid the patients in their recovery. The major part of medicine is that of treating and preventing diseases. In order to treat a disease, medicine uses the scientific method of treating the cause of the disease, relieving the patient of the symptoms, and eventually preventing the recurrence of the disease. Different methods of medicine such as pharmacology, obstetrics and gynecology, nutrition, infectious disease, personal medicine, surgery, pathology, radiography, computer medicine etc are used for treating the patients. Sometimes surgery is also required in case of serious ailments or injuries.
There are different branches of medicine such as ophthalmology, pediatric medicine, internal medicine, hematology, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, liver medicine, pediatrics, pulmonology, surgery, psychiatry, gastroenterology, surgery, dermatology, orthopedics, surgery, pediatrics, radiation oncology and surgery. All these branches of medicine employ different set of medical principles and methods for treating and preventing diseases. Today it is a complete science, which includes all the applied sciences which are broadly divided into two branches called medicinal science and biological medicine. In addition to this there is another branch of medicine called nursing science which mainly concerns with providing health education, prevention and therapy to the patients. Even though there is a considerable amount of difference between the two branches of medicine, they are both useful for the modern medical science.
